Content With This Life

A wise person does not dream of what "could have been." Therefore, we are to be joyful and content in our present circumstances. Being content is being satisfied with what one is or has. There is nothing wrong with improving your circumstances or life if it is accordance with the Word of God. We are encouraged to do so in Phillipians 3:13..Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.

People often tell me, I could never live that way. I could never live in a bus. They are probably right. I never dreamed I would be either, but I am very content. The Lord has me living this life for a reason and I love it. I could dwell negatively on many why can't I have this or that, but honestly, I do not feel like I am missing out on anything by living this lifestyle. I believe there are pro's and con's to every way of life...I just choose to be content with the life the Lord has given. I do strive to improve our home to be homey, to strengthen my spiritual growth, to "workout" my physical body to be healthier and to be the best wife and mom I can be. Those areas I am not satisfied with ever being stagnant.

I have had many regrets in my life that I could sit around in self-pity and wish I could have, would have and should have, but that is a HUGE waste of time and energy. I choose to live content and intentional for the Lord! Philippians 4:11 says, Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
