Library

This past week we were in a town for a little over week and I had access to the local library. (I LOVE the library!) Anywho, I was able to use a card from someone at the church. I checked out some DVD's of some older movies and a few books.
The boys and I watched the Sound of Music. That was the first time for them and I believe, the first time I have seen the whole thing through. Very enjoyable! It was especially wonderful, because I was seeing it through their eyes for the first time. Treasured memory!
I have never read a Karen Kingsbury book. Gasp...I know! I haven't read many fiction books the past few years, actually. Usually, I am reading parenting or ministry type books. So it was extra special for me. I kind of feel guilty getting lost in a book when I have two little men who could use a book read to them. But, I got over it this past week and had myself a time. (Still being a fab mama, of course!)
I chose 'Between Sundays' for a couple of reasons. The selection at the library of her books was quite small for one and I did not want to get a book in a series. What if I really loved it? I would run out of time to read the whole series. NOT Good!!

For the next two days, I snuck in reading that book whenever I had a free minute. I even read in the car. (Luckily, I don't get sick doing so!) LOVED it!! Knew that I would thoroughly enjoy it, but shocked by the effect it had! I was a fan!
I raced back to get another stand alone book. This time...Divine! Wow! Powerful, heart-wrenching and clear salvation message.
I look forward to reading more of Karen's books. However, I am not a fiction-book buyer. I prefer to borrow! Hopefully, it will work out in next few weeks to do so!
Have you read any of her books? Which one touched your heart the most? Which one should I read next?

  1. I have not read any of her books yet...though I have also just recently discovered how to get in some "me" time with reading lately. I have always loved reading but never can seem to find the time...but am learning how to sneak in a bit of time here or there. I am reading Francine Rivers books right now - she is AWESOME! I am on my third book of hers. If you have a chance to read Redeeming Love by her you need to - you won't be able to put it down!

    Happy reading!

(love your blog by the way - way to go girl!)
